'Ron' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1979). Seedling# H74-79F. TB, 36" (91 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards violet-blue (near RHS 96A); falls slightly lighter with lighter center area; beard subtle blending of yellow and blue. 'Silent Majesty' X 'Neptune's Pool'. Mission Bell 1981. High Commendation 1980 (seedling H74-79F), Honorable Mention 1983; Award of Merit 1985.

From AIS Bulletin #240 January 1981 Introducing RON. 36", M. Large, lustrous violet-blue self. Broad, ruffled petals, domed standards, arched and flaring falls. Beards appear to be turquoise, an effect caused by subtle blending of yellow and blue hairs. Lacy style crests also show some turquoise. Strong stems, ideal bud placement. (Silent Majesty X Neptune's Pool). HC '80. #H74-79F. Named in honor of our good friend, Ron Mullin. Net $25.00. Mission Bell.
