'Summer Sunshine' (James Gibson, R. 1971). Seedling# 83-6A. TB, 35" (89 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards copper; falls light yellow ground, white signal patch, copper rim; orange beard; ruffled. Seedling# 68-2PB: (('Henna Stitches' x 'Wild Ginger') x sibling) X seedling# 37-4PL. Gibson 1972.

| From AIS Bulletin #205 April 1972 Introducing SUMMER SUNSHINE '72. M. 35". $25.00. The copper and gold brilliance of this ruffled fluted and serrated plicata is a delight to see. We have seen it even more beautiful in the autumn. The standards are a brilliant ruffled copper shaded gold. The falls are a light bright yellow, with a white signal patch, rimmed by the same brilliant copper color of the standards. The speckles and stitches in this rim is further enhanced by a fine fluting and ruffling. We have never seen a more brilliant plicata. The beard is an orange-yellow. Blooms 5" x 6". Seedling #83-6A. Gibson's Iris Garden. |
