From AIS Bulletin #193 April 1969 Introducing SWISS MAJESTY Sdlg. 65-12-GP. EM & Re Giant, heavily-substanced plicata, of great width of petals, yet perfectly hardy. It is not as early nor as generous with rebloom as the others listed, although it might be if I did not breed so heavily with it in the spring season. The broad, rounded form suggests onco breeding. Three deeply set branches and terminal. Standards white, heavily overlaid with pansy purple (33/1). Falls white with a broad border of pansy purple. Excellent pod parent; bears fertile pollen. (Dotted Swiss x Gibson Girl) X Double Majesty. $25. Avonbank Iris Gardens. |
