From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1950: We are proud of Trail Blazer. As the name implies, it is a fiery red-mulberry purple, shot with blue at the tip of the beard which spreads over the central portion of the falls creating a startlingly brilliant color effect. A touch of deep ruby red flanks the cinnamon beard and adds depth and richness to the flower. The standards arch and are closed, while the falls are shaggy and slightly ruffled. A most interesting flower. 3½ to 4 feet. $15.00 |
From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: TRAILBLAZER (Milliken 1951) M. 36 in. (Unknown). A very large mulberry magenta with a buff gold infusion in the standards and a touch of red each side of the beard which ends in a blue signal patch at the tip. A buff gold border on the falls adds to the beauty of this most unusual blend. 3.50. |
