'Cahokia' X seedling# 11253: ('Blue Rhythm' x ((blue seedling x 'Progenitor') x ('Distance' x blue seedling))). Longfield 1958. Honorable Mention 1958; Judges' Choice 1958, 1959; Award of Merit 1960; Premio Firenze 1961; American Dykes Medal 1962.

From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1958: WHOLE CLOTH (Cook No. 12555) (Progenitor breeding) H.C., 1957. A new color in amoenas. A distinct and most attractive Iris with standards clean white and falls solid medium blue — the color of Blue Rhythm, the beards white. The large flowers, 5x5, are of excellent form with broad petals and flaring falls. Style arms are white flushed very light blue. Well branched stalks are three feet tall. Midseason. $20.00.
From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: WHOLE CLOTH (Cook '58) M-36". '62 DYKES. The most talked-about Iris of the decade. Heralded as a new color break in amoenas, & one that is widely sought because of its Progenitor breeding. Standards snowy white; falls solid medium blue--the color of Blue Rhythm. Harmonizing white beards. A perfectly formed Iris, smartly ruffled, fine substance & tall well branched stalks. The future that this holds for amoena breeders is something to dream about!
