Charmingly dressed in light Uranium green, with a pale bluebird blue overcast on the falls, and an attractive bluebird blue beard. This Iris was selected by two of our most prominent Judges. 36". From Lyon’s Irisland catalog, 1959: WINGED GODDESS (Lyon '56) $17.00 Outstanding with unusual charm and refinement. Very light uranium green, flushed bluebird blue. Beard is bluebird blue. Petals are broad and rounded somewhat ruffled, and of smoothest satin texture. 36". M. ((Char-Maize x Green Pastures) X Self). H. M.'56.
 
  From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: WINGED GODDESS (Lyon '56) M-36". A color most fitting for this atomic age; standards very light uranium green, flushed with bluebird blue on the inside base; falls slightly tinted in pale uranium green, with an overcast of very soft bluebird blue washed from beard done in medium blue. Outer edges of ruffled petals have a faint flush of light mimosa yellow. A big, tall, stately flower with an irresistible appeal, a character all its own. Comes from wonderful parents, so should be fine for the hybridizer. [(Char-Maize x Green Pastures) X self). Reg. $4.00; on $10 order $3.40; on $25 order $2.70.
