'Hayride' (Bennett Jones, R. 1970). Seedling 910-1. TB, 35" (89 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards pink-orange; falls straw yellow, orange at haft; deep orange beard. 'Bright Butterfly' X 'Spanish Gift'. Jones 1971. Honorable Mention 1972.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing HAYRIDE-910-1 (Bright Butterfly X Spanish Gift). Orange-pink standards are graceful and tightly closed. Wide almost horizontal falls are bright straw yellow, smooth deep orange at the haft, with hints of green. The wide beard is red-orange. Beautiful form, a plant that will grow and the brightest orange toned iris I know. 35". $25.00. Bennett Jones.
