From Sam Carpenter catalog, 1925: SUDAN (Bliss) S. bronzy-yellow; F. deep carmine-violet. This new English variety is in a class with Flammenschwert, the new squalens from Germany. $1.00.
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: SUDAN (Bliss). S. yellow-tan suffused with rose. F. bright claret purple with extreme edge matching S; splendid orange beard. In buff class. A medium size flower which blooms in midseason, and which Mr. Bliss thinks is superior to Iris King. Height 33 inches. $1.00.
