Translation: NEW IRIS
In response to recent and interesting MM. Denis R. and W. Djkes, about new iris, I would like another novelty of my obtaining, from a cross between Iris Korolkowi 'X I. Cypriana' and I named I. Korolcyp. I'l flourished in Petit-Ghàtenay (Vendée) for the first time in 1909) and his last flowering
I clearly fixed on its decorative value.
• Here is a brief description:
tight and fleshy stem forming a compact clump; linear leaves, slightly flexuous, 45 to 50 centimeters long and 2-3 centimeters wide; tall flower stalks 60 cm, rarely bifurcated, carrying a terminal spathe or bi triflore; quite large flowers (10 to 12 centimeters), spread segments, azure slightly lilac, based divisions veined brown and yellow, yellow beard. Flowering late April or beginning of May.
An iris farmer assured me there some time, he had never been able to get good results by operating crossings between the two sections of Iris (Regelia Pogoniris X). There are certainly exceptions and here we have proof. Certainly, by crossing like this, we will get perhaps not as brilliant results in hybridizing these sections Regelia and Oncocyclus because the plants from crossing it (Regeliocyclus) are true horticultural wonders ; Nevertheless, it is interesting to continue such operations. This is what we will do, and we have some pretty strong plants for flowering next year.
The I. Korolcyp, we will multiply as quickly as possible, will be a good acquisition for fans is interested in this kind of beautiful plants. Not only is the product very attractive flower, but it is also extreme
armament flowering, hardy and easy to grow.
Later, I also have the opportunity to talk to other hybrid section of the bulbous Iris, three of which have bloomed last year and from the following crossings: I. I- warleyensis bucharica X, X I. I caucasica . sindjarensis and I. bucharica X I- orchioides; but not until the future blossoming into a full description.
