From Sam Carpenter catalog, 1927: CASSANDRA (Perry 1923 ) Gigantic flowers produced in profusion; S. large, incurved, pretty shade of rose-violet; F. fully 3 inches long, crimson overlaid black with a bold bronze base reticulated white; bright orange beard. 3½ ft. $7.00.
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: CASSANDRA (Perry). A beautiful Iris as large as Vilmorin’s Magnifica. Brighter and with better substance in its petals than Alcazar. Colors of Magnifica and Alcazar. It has some of the richness of Allies at the base of its falls. Height, 18 to 24 inches. $3.00.
