Standards and style arms burgundy; falls burgundy plicata markings, white central area with deeper burgundy streak; beards light blue. 'Chanted' X 'Chubby Cheeks'. Cape Iris 1998. Honorable Mention 2002.

From AIS Bulletin #309 April 1998 Introducing BORDEAUX PEARL (Niswonger '98) Sdlg. SDB 2-96: (Chanted X Chubby Cheeks). SDB, 14" (35 cm), M. What else could you expect from crossing two great parents but a vigorous plicata (Chanted has plicata in it's background) burgundy plicata (a recessive trait) which is closer to a fancy plicata with just a small patch of white-creamin the falls and a deeper streak down the middle. It's set off by a light blue beard. It received 10 votes for an EC at the 1997 St. Louis Early Show. This was one of the first ones spotted by garden visitors. $15.00. Cape Iris.
